Gordonbrook

Several tenements are held by CWG, over the highly mineralised Gordonbrook belt (Fig.1).

EL 6396 (Pulganbar) contains the Pulganbar cobalt-gold-copper field and the Cangai copper field.  EL 6735 (Baryulgil) contains a number of historic gold, copper and chromite deposits, whilst ELA 3194 completes the coverage of the Gordonbrook belt.

Pulganbar

The Pulganbar copper-gold-cobalt-arsenic-mercury mineral field is located 36 km northwest of Grafton and covers a 2 km long section of the contact between granodiorite and a sediment-acid volcanic sequence, where multiple veinlets of gold-copper-cobalt sulphide mineralisation is well developed.

Mineralisation is spatially controlled and occurs in either the granodiorite or the adjoining silica sericite altered acid volcanics.  The mineralisation is associated with quartz and carbonate veining within a network of elongated tourmaline bodies.

(Fig.2 Pulganbar Deposits)

Pulganbar was originally mined 130 years ago, and included the Flintoffs and Glamorgan copper mines.  Only copper and mercury were produced and the deepest workings were 36 metres deep.

Assays from the old working range up to 14.7% Co and 1.75 oz per ton Au and 4 oz per ton Ag.

Previous exploration at Pulganbar has included :

IP geophysics.
Gridded soil sampling for Cu, Au, As & Co.
Trenching (26 costeans for 1518.5 metres)
17 RC drillholes (1021 metres).

As of May 2007, CWG had drilled an additional 12 RC holes totalling 1,348m to test the main soil cobalt and gold anomalies.

Various high grade one metre intercepts occur within these intersections, the richest of which are listed below:

The cut-off grade for both Co and Cu in the tables is around 0.1% - at current metal price this grade of cobalt is worth $80-90/tonne.

All of the above drill intercepts fall within an east north-easterly trending higher grade zone with a sub-vertical dip and an approximate 10m true width that can be traced for at least 100m. The soil geochemistry, however, suggests considerably greater strike extent.

Cobalt mineralisation has also been reported at various localities within the Fine Flower area in the northern segment of the Licence and field examination will commence shortly.

Cangai

The Cangai prospect lies on separate part of EL 6396, and encompasses the historic copper deposit and smelter.

Baryulgil

The recently granted EL 6735 centred around the township of Baryulgil and lies directly north of the Pulganbar Licence, covering any extension of the cobalt belt to the north.

At present little work has been done on this licence though this will change during the next year.
